Life story Janet Lee Cox, age 82, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her residence. Born January 7, 1936 in Marengo, Indiana, she was the daughter of Orville Lee and Thelma (Wells) Pearson. On July 17, 1955, she was united in marriage to Charles A. "Sonny" Cox at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madison. She had most recently worked at Hertz Shoe Store but had also worked at Craig Toyota, King's Daughters' Hospital, and as a transcriptionist for Dr. Cronen and Dr. Michl for many years. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and was of the Methodist faith. She was the proud mother of six and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed boating and cooking. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Sonny; her daughters: Linda Wehner and her husband, Mike of Madison and Leslie Jenkins and her husband, Mike, of Louisville, Kentucky; her sons: Mike Cox and his wife, Lori of Campbellsburg, Indiana and Dart Cox of Madison; her grandchildren: Joey Bowling, Stephanie Sentz, Jenny Rhine, Amie Pesek, Cassaundra Hasse, Justin Henry, Keith Cox, Ashley Cox, Kalynn Cox, Michaela Cox, Laney Cox, and Chip Cox; her great grandchildren: Keely, Alex, Cooper, Maggie, Caleb, Charlie, Chloe, Cooper, Cayden, Madison, Lilly, Kyleigh, Brady, Mckenzie, Hailey, Glenn, and Megan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons: Keith Cox and Chip Cox; and her sister: Sharon Stark. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison's Hilltop, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday.
