Obituary

Life story Ida Jean Ford, age 80, of 322 West Third Street, Madison, Indiana passed away at 3:30 P.M. on Friday, June, 10, 2005 at the King's Daughters' Hospital. Grandma Ford was the strong, yet loving matriarch of her family. Her love and friendship was unconditional and she will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was born May 5, 1925 in Trimble County, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Daisy Belle Hamilton Singer. She was a beautician for 48 years, with most of that time spent at Cassidy's Beauty Shop. She was an active, 61 year member of the First Christian Church, and past president of the Charity Circle. She was a member of Bethany Circle of the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons , the King's Daughters' Hospital Board of Directors, and was a volunteer at King's Daughters' Hospital. She was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel on October 8, 1990. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Claude Routon; two grandchildren, Michael C. Davidson and his wife, Stacy, and Jennifer S. Dews and her husband, Randy; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Grace Davidson; several nieces and nephews; and one son, John Ford and his daughter, Aimee. Her husband, George C. Ford, her parents, one sister, Helen Wilder and one brother, Rodger Singer, preceded her in death. The Reverend A. Franklyn Brooks and Reverend Greg Russell will conduct funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Kent Cemetery. The Bethany Circle of the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons will hold memorial services at 7 P.M. Monday June 13, 2005 at the funeral chapel. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 P.M. on Monday June 13, 2005 and after 11:00 A.M. on the day of the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the First Christian Church or the Bethany Circle of the King's Daughters'. Cards will be available at the funeral chapel.
