Jerry Morton West, age 71, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Norvel E. and Grace E. (Coots) West, was born on December 31, 1949, in Madison. He was an 1967 graduate of Carroll County High School in Carrollton, Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky. He served in the United States Marines and the U.S. Navy on the USS Coral Sea and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed politics, watching Fox News, and playing the Dulcimer, especially in the Kentucky Dulcimer Gathering. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan, enjoyed reading, mainly science fiction and military books, and loved cats. Mr. West passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Heritage House of Greensburg, Indiana. His life will be cherished by his son, Michael West, of Madison; his sisters: Cheri Martin and Jeannie Burrnett, both of Carrollton, Kentucky; and his caregiver, Nita West of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents. At this time, no services will be held.
