Life story Mr. Jesse "Glen" Hopper, 89, of Lexington, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born Sunday, October 15, 1922 in Jefferson County, Indiana the son of William M.and Maudie (Conard) Hopper. Mr. Hopper was honorably discharged as a Private First Class in August 1947 from the United States Army. He served in World War II. He retired in 1987 from the Charlestown Ammunition Plant as a truck driver. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1969. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising a garden and loved to play bingo. Survivors include his wife, Doris J. (Lee) Hopper whom he married on Thursday, May 9, 1946 in Jeffersonville, Indiana; his daughter: Linda Swinney, and her husband, Eddie of LaPlata, MO; two sons: Ronald Hopper, Madison, IN and Gary Hopper and his wife, Bonnie, Madison, IN; a brother, Carl Hopper, Chelsea, IN; 4 grandchildren: Teresa Jones(Craig), Sonia Blankenship(Anthony Rhye), Julie Davidson(Drew Roberts), and Michael Hopper(Michele); 3 great-granddaughters: Kaylee Serna, Danielle Blankenship, and McKenzie Rhye; two brother-in-laws: Charles Lee, Deputy, IN and Robert Lee and his wife, Tish, Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert K. Hopper and a sister, Alyeane Kent. The Reverend Randy Crutchfield will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with burial to follow at the New Bethel Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be conducted by the United States Army Friends may call from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel and from 9:00 AM until time of service on Monday, March 12, 2012.
