Life story Bishop Jesse T. Jenkins, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the home of his son in Madison. He was born on June 26, 1937 in Hamburg, Arkansas, the son of Mack and MaeBell King Jenkins. Bishop Jenkins was the pastor of Christ Temple Community Church in Madison. He was also the retired owner and operator of Jenkins and Sons New Look Contracting Company. Previously, he had worked for Grote Manufacturing Company and the Madison Consolidated School System. He was a graduate of Midwest Bible College and held an honorary Doctorate in Theology degree. His memberships included Christ Temple Community Church, the Apostolic Bible Student Association and the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Survivors include his wife, the former Brenette Robinson, to whom he was married on May 23, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois; four daughters: Shirrie A. Jenkins of Madison, Tirrie A. Jenkins of Hanover, Indiana, Valerie M. "Wendy" Jenkins of Lexington, Kentucky, and Twyler L. "Reasy" Jenkins of Chicago, Illinois; six sons: Thomas A. Jenkins of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeffrey M. Jenkins and Jarvis M. Jenkins, both of Madison, Deon M. Jenkins of Bradenton, Florida, Mark S. Jenkins of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Joseph M. A. Jenkins of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters: Caryine Paskel and Virdell Jenkins, both of Hamburg, Arkansas; seven brothers: LeTell Jenkins, Samuel Jenkins, Mack Jenkins, Jr. and Marvin Jenkins, and Searcy Jenkins, all of Hamburg, Arkansas, Dorchester Jenkins of Gary, Indiana, Willie Jenkins of Indianapolis, Indiana, and; twenty grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents; one son, Jesse Jenkins, Jr. on September 30, 1997; two brothers: Willie Charles Jenkins and Birman "Jack" Jenkins; and one sister, May Ella McQuay. Funeral services will be conducted by Suffragan Bishop Don Reynolds and Bishop James E. Tyson at 1:00PM Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1636 Clifty Drive, Madison. Friends and family may call from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at the Christ Temple Community Church, 420 East First Street, Madison.
