Life story Jetta Nay Dean Manning, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born August 27, 1938 in Bethlehem, Indiana, she was the daughter of James and Blanche Smith Shelton. Mrs. Manning was a retired homemaker and an avid quilter. Survivors include one son, Allen Manning of Fredrick, Maryland; her mother, Blanche Shelton of Hanover, Indiana; four brothers: James Shelton of Brownsville, Texas, William Shelton of Glencoe, Kentucky, Prentis Shelton of Madison, and Danny Shelton Hanover, Indiana; five sisters: Belva Tingle, Betty Thorne, Elizabeth Russell, and Ruth Short, all of Madison, and Evelyn Jones of Warsaw, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Manning on October 11, 1993; her father, James Shelton; and three brothers: Richard, George and Donald Shelton. Private family services will be conducted at a later date. Interment will be with her husband in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison.
