Life story Miss Jill Kristine Ashby, age 37, of Ruskin, Florida, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Manatee County, Florida. Born July 14, 1973 in Madison, she was the daughter of Jon Paul and Vicki Barnes Ashby. Miss Ashby was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison Consolidated High School. She attended Indiana University Southeast. She had been a dealer at Belterra Casino in Vevay and Caesars Casino in New Albany for ten years. She moved to Florida a year ago and had been working as a server at Woody's Restaurant in Ellenton, Florida. Her interests were many and included: music and dancing, cooking, horseback riding, shopping, beaches and sunsets. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her children and socializing with family and friends. Her family will always treasure her beautiful smile and sunny outlook, and will take pride in the path her life was on. She was truly a free spirit. Survivors include her mother of Palmetto, Florida; her father of Vevay, Indiana; one daughter, Alexandra Gordon of Madison; one son, Elijah Gould of Lexington, Indiana; two brothers: Michael Jones of Commiskey, Indiana and Jon Charles Ashby of Brooksburg, Indiana; her maternal grandmother, Jean Barnes of Madison; her companion, Joseph Gaskill of Ruskin, Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2011at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 PM Saturday.
