Obituary

Life story Joan Woodcox Short, age 78, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana. Born August 2, 1940 in Caneyville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Albert and Claudia (Durbin) Woodcox. She owned and operated D & J Furniture and Lodging in Madison. On April 11, 1988, she was united in marriage to Dusty Short. She was a published writer, created stained glass, enjoyed music and played the Dulcimer, and loved to spend time with friends and family-especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Dusty Short; her sons and daughters-in-law: Tony and Barbara Fulton, Chris and Stephanie Fulton, and Tim and Kristi Fulton, all of Madison; her sister, Alberta Bryant of Ormond Beach, Florida; her brother, Jerry Woodcox of Louisville, Kentucky; her grandchildren: Josh, Jeremy, Jacob, Ryan and Chadrick Fulton, Lynsy Monroe, and Alyssa Duncan; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters: Betty Straub, Brenda Meldrum, and Regina Woodcox. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Children's Home. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
