Joseph Donavon Simmonds, age 47, of Hanover, Indiana, and the son of Harry and Delores (Lewis) Simmonds, was born on February 22, 1974, in Madison, Indiana. He was a graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover. Recently he worked at Arvin Sango and Madison Precision, but had previously been a cook. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, fishing, taking photos especially of sunsets and wildlife, and his favorite animal was the gray wolf. Mr. Simmonds passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in a car accident near North Vernon, Indiana.

His life will be cherished by his son: Dalton Simmonds, of Scottsburg, Indiana; his grandson: Christopher Simmonds, of Scottsburg; his parents: Harry and Delores Simmonds, of Hanover; his brothers: John Simmonds and James Simmonds, both of Hanover; his aunts: Beverly Purdy of Kingsland, Georgia and Marilyn Morris and her husband, Earl of Vevay, Indiana; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be set at a later date.
