Life story Mr. John J. Cart, age 79, of Deputy, Indiana passed away at 11:59 am on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the King's Daughters' Hospital. Born December 9, 1930 in Dexter, Indiana, he was the son of Ralph O. and Clara (Robbins) Cart. Mr. Cart was a private in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. He worked in maintenance at the Muscatatuck State School. He was a member of the VFW Post #1969 and enjoyed sports. Survivors include two sisters: Irene Simmons of Deputy and Eleanor Malcomb of Commiskey; two brothers: Ronnie Cart of Kent, Indiana and Richard Cart of Deputy; two granddaughters: Sarah Phillips of Deputy and Brittany Phillips of Deputy; one great-granddaughter, Amber Killey of Deputy; three step daughters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Ralph O. Cart, Howard Cart, and Raymond Cart. The Reverend Howard Bell will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Coffee Creek Cemetery in Paris Crossing, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Friday and after 10:00 AM Saturday. The Honor Guard of the American Legion, Jefferson Post #9 will conduct graveside services.
