Life story Mr. John Thomas Dahlem, age 61, of Hanover, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. Born October 30, 1944, he was the son of the late John W. and Marjorie (O'Neal) Dahlem. Mr. Dahlem was working at the fuel emissions plant for Cummins in Columbus, Indiana, where he had worked for 37 years. He was a graduate of Madison High School, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Hanover Baptist Church. He enjoyed computers, archery, guns, metal detecting, arrow head hunting, and traveiling, especially to Hawaii and Las Vegas. He is survived by one daughter, Holly Elles of Hanover, two sons, Johnny T. Dahlem, Jr. of Hanover and Matthew (Carla) Dahlem of Madison. His sister Joyce Robertson(Charles) of Hanover, 4 grandchildren Alyssa Elles, Kyle Elles, Aubrey Dahlem and Evan Dahlem and 2 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his father on April 29, 1996; his mother on June 25, 1996 and an infant brother, Charles Fredrick Dahlem on January 23, 1941. Reverend J. D. Traylor will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 25, 2006 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private for the family. The Honor Guard of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9 will conduct full military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
