Life story Mr. John R. Ford, age 64, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 9, 1949 in Hanover, Indiana, the son of George C. and Ida Jean Singer Ford. Mr. Ford was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover, and a veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He was retired from the former Rexnord, Inc., of Madison. He moved to Columbus from Madison in 2008, and was a life member of VFW Post #1969, Madison. He was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed old cars, college basketball, drag racing, and his dog, Molly. Survivors include one daughter, Aimee Jo Perry of Madison; one sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Claude Routon of Hanover; his cousin, Reverend John R. Rowlett of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his friend, Rinda Oren of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend John R. Rowlett at 11:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Kent Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, June 26 and from 10 to 11 AM Friday.
