Life story PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR FUNERAL SERVICES ON WEDNESDAY. John E. Humes, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born March 1, 1946 in Madison, he was the son of Horace and Ruth M. (Todd) Humes. Mr. Humes was a 1965 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, and a life-long resident of Madison. He retired in 2002 from shipping department of the former Reliance Electric Company in Madison. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, American Legion, Jefferson Post #9, a volunteer at the Lide White Boy's and Girl's Club and the Miss Madison Racing Team, and a life member of the Stacks of Power Fraternal Order of Police Lodge. Survivors include one daughter, Merri Faith Todd of Madison; seven sisters: Grace Humes, Nancy Lewis and Laura Humes, all of Madison; Julia Seniors, Sandra Anderson and Elaine Smith, all of Columbus, Indiana, and Stephanie Gallahar of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two brothers: Louis Humes of Melbourne, Florida, and Raymond Humes of Jeffersonville; one granddaughter, Brittany Todd-Humes; and two great-granddaughters, Addison and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Connie Humes and one brother, James Robert Humes. The Reverend Robert Scott will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Madison Assembly of God Church, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 and from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at the church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the John E.
