Life story Mr. John Everett Kidd, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1936 in Madison, the son of John and Cora (Buchanan) Kidd. Mr. Kidd was employed in the shipping and receiving department of US Filter and Rexnord companies, both in Madison, for thirty-five years. He was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ for forty-three years, and enjoyed watching Cincinnati Reds baseball, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, yard work, motorcycling and joking. Survivors include his wife, the former Bernice Sally Edwards, to whom he was married on October 24, 1953; three daughters: Vicky Fuson and her husband, Harold of North Vernon, Indiana, Cheryl Conover of Madison, Lisa Kidd and her fianc, Richard Smith of Madison; a daughter whom he raised, Brianna Kidd Griffin of Madison; two sisters: Juanita Jumps and Wilma Stewart, both of Madison; five grandchildren: Michelle Voris and her husband, Eric, John Grubbs and his wife, Tonya, Travis Conover and his wife, Amanda, Michael Conover and his wife, Emily and Danielle Childress and her husband, Chas; twelve great grandchildren: Tyler, Emmalee, Chance, Destiny, Khloey, Chevy, Bryce, Brantley, Berlynn, Finnley, Charley Ann and Chase Everett; four great-great grandchildren: Tanner, Layla, Nevaeh and Aleigha; and several nieces , nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Margaret Koontz on January 6, 2010, Dorothy Wells on October 15, 2010, Ruth Smith on May 24, 1965, Anna Smithers on July 1, 1989, one brother, Clyde Kidd on May 23, 2012, twin brother and sister: George Allen Kidd, who died as an infant on October 22, 1941, and Mary Helen Willhoite, on May 21, 2013; and an infant grandson, Charles Wayne Grubbs. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Mike Straub, Reverend Robert Leach and Mr. Richard Smith at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Saint John's United Church of Christ, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 and from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the church.
