Obituary

Life story Mr. John D. Rodolo, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on May 23, 1915 in Tuckahoe, New York, the son of Victor and Josephina (Beretta) Rodolo. Mr. Rodolo was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He entered the military on April 14, 1941, and was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945 with the rank of sergeant. Among his medals received were the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Marksman Badge. He was chef by profession, having managed the Madison Elk's Lodge restaurant and cooked for a fraternity at Hanover College for many years. His memberships included the Jefferson Post #9, American Legion and the B.P.O Elks Lodge # 524. He was an avid golfer, loved fishing, reading and especially cooking for friends and neighbors. Survivors include a stepdaughter and her husband, Darla A. and David Anderson of Dunn Loring, Virginia; a step-son and his wife, Larry K. and Kristi Fueher of Milton, Florida; and two sisters: Alfalda Lanzorotta and Josephine Russell; six grandchildren: Jennifer Fuehrer of Detroit, Michigan, Amy Fuehrer of San Luis Obispo, California, Larry Fuehrer, Jr. of Detroit; Kim and Jeff Lewis of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Kristen and Michael Klett of Raleigh, North Carolina, and David Westmeyer, Jr. of Dunn Loring, Virginia; and three granddaughters: Keenan Lewis, Paige Lewis and Rachel Klett. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Nellie Ann (Davies) Fueher Rodolo, who passed away on February 8, 2002; one sister, Jean Fusaro; and one brother, Dorio Rodolo. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Robert Leach at 10AM Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Chapel of the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison. The Honor Guard from Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct services at the cemetery. Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
