Mr. Joseph Cecil Ruffin, age 73, of Bennington, Indiana, and the son of the late Chauncy and Marguerite L. (Talkington) Ruffin, was born on November 22, 1948, in Noblesville, Indiana. He was united in marriage to the former Teresa Jones on July 19, 1968 in Carmel, Indiana. For three years, he was an electrician for Dodd Electric in Castleton, Indiana, and then went on to work for CountryMark Co-op in Westfield, Indiana for forty-three years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and enjoyed hunting and boating in his spare time. Mr. Ruffin passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. His life will be cherished by his wife of 53 years, Teresa of Bennington; his children: Joseph Ruffin, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Palmer, Alaska, and Lori Roach, of North Port, Florida; his sister: Joyce L. Smith; his brothers: Frederick Ruffin and Rick L. Ruffin; his grandchildren: Samuel J., Rachel L., and Brooklynn R. Ruffin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Lee Ruffin. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
