Obituary

Life story Mr. Larry W. Cole, age 71, of Hanover, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Hanover Health and Rehab Center. Born July 3, 1940 in Madison, he was the son of Curtis and Laverne Young Cole. Mr. Cole retired as a painter from the Meese Corporation after several years of service. He and his late wife owned and operated Cakes by Cole Catering for twenty years. He served in the United States Marie Corp, and was a member of North Madison Baptist Church and the VFW, Post #1969, Madison. Survivors include one step-daughter, Paula Crandall of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Betty Melton of Madison; two brothers: John Cole and Randall Cole, both of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Freda Dolby on August 6, 2002; his parents; and one sister, Janet Cole. The Reverend Frank J. McGee will conduct graveside services at 1:30 PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Symrna-Monroe Cemetery on Deputy Pike. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion will also conduct military services at the graveside. Interment will follow.
