Obituary

Life story Larry Dean Taylor, age 67, of Madison, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 1, 1942 in Madison, the son of E. Denny and E. Bonny Ross Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a 1960 graduate of Columbus North High School and earned a degree in computer programming and accounting from Ivy Tech in 1985. He served honorably in the United States Army and rose to the rank of SP5. He served at the RPC Regional Personnel Center in Karlsrew, Germany as personnel manager. The Good Conduct Medal and U.S. Army Commendation Medal were received. Mr. Taylor was a car salesman, and had special interest in motorcycles, and was a fan of NASCAR, the Indianapolis Colts and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. His memberships included the Moose Lodge #765, where he enjoyed working on their projects. He was a forty-six year member and currently held the office of Prelate and was a past 3-year trustee. He was also a member of the Legionaires, Jefferson Post #9 of the American Legion for thirty-two years, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, the former Faye Stainback, to whom he was married at the North Madison Christian Church on December 6, 1963; three daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa M and Stan Wehner of Madison, Tonya D. and Bruce Turnbull of Madison, and Carlee T. and Donald, Jr. "Chip" Youngblood of Hanover; his mother and step-father, E. Bonny and Louis Williams of Ormond Beach, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Lana Kay and David Preston of Columbus, Indiana; one brother and sister-in-law, E. Denny, Jr. and Connie Taylor of Columbus, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson, Bobby Temple, Jr. The Reverend Wayne Mahoney will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison. Friends may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 PM Monday, February 1, 2010 and from 12 Noon until 2 PM Tuesday. The Moose Lodge will conduct memorial services at 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. The United States Army Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Larry Taylor Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
