Life story Mrs. Laura Ruth Kinnard Scroggins, age 89, formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon, Indiana. Born April 6, 1924 in Jefferson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert and Tressie Stearns Kidd. Mrs. Scroggins retired from Mascatatuck State Hospital as an attendant supervisor, and was a member of the Dupont Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter: Alice Brown of North Vernon; one son: Donald Kinnard of Centerville, Ohio; five step-daughters: Debbie Righthouse, Donna McClanahan, Pamela Mount Castleu, Janet Conley, Catherine Stanley; two steps-ns: Larry Scroggins and Wallace Scroggins;several grandchildren, including Barbara, Christina, Michelle, Chad; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: George Kinnard and Wallace Scroggins; one son, Cecil Kinnard; and one brother, Fred Kidd. The Reverend Ernest Lamb will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 27, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Bayless Cemetery, Madison. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Bayless Cemetery Association.
