Life story Mr. Leslie "Michael" Benham, age 65, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. Born October 30, 1946 in Jefferson County, Indiana, he was the son of Roy Dale and Wilna Maureen "Jubie" Bare Benham. He was a mechanic, having worked for Davis Alignment for twenty-eight years, Darrells Tire and Alignment Service for five years, and Steve's Broadway Service for several years. Mr. Benham was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Jefferson Post # 9, and the former Eagles Lodge #1158. He enjoyed fishing, going to the creek and long drives with the family. In his younger years, he owned and raced stock cars in the surrounding area. He was also a fan of NASCAR and driver Tony Stewart. Survivors include two sons: Mike Benham and Brent Benham, both of Madison; one daughter: Dana Benham Pitts of Mississippi; two step-sons: Charlie Maddox and Donnie Maddox, both of Madison; one step-daughter, Donnetta Trejo and her husband, Ricardo of Madison; one grandson, Dante Farone of Greenwood, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sandy Benham; and his companion, Anna Maddox. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Paynesville, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, January 13, 2011 and from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday.
