Obituary

Life story Mrs. Linda L. Ferguson, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born on October 10, 1945 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of Ralph B. and Ina Stewart Menser. Mrs. Ferguson was an Owensboro, Kentucky high school graduate, and moved to Madison several years ago. She formerly worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation, Big Lots Department Store, the Thrift Store at the Salvation Army, managed a retail clothing store, and retired in October 2008 after ten years of service as a janitor/custodian at Hanover College. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and an avid University of Kentucky fan. Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. Ferguson, to whom she was married on December 22, 1983 in Carrollton, Kentucky; four sons and daughters-in-law: James and Rachel Allen of Nixa, Missouri, Christopher and Sandy Allen of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom and Charlotte Ferguson of Erlanger, Kentucky, and Patrick and Tammy Ferguson of New Miami, Ohio; two daughters: Melissa Allen of Louisville, Kentucky and Jennifer Sturgill and her husband, Mark, of Hamilton, Ohio; her mother and stepfather, Ina and Joe Mitchell of Owensboro; two sisters: Debbie Noble and Jean Shively, both of Owensboro; twenty-one grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph B. Menser, one grandson and one brother-in-law. The Reverend Richard Draper will conduct memorial services at 1:30 PM Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church, with inurnment to follow in the Columbarium at Christ Episcopal Church. The family requests contributions be made to either Christ Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society. Memorial envelopes are available at Lytle Funeral Chapel or the church.
