Life story Mrs. Madge Beth Murphy, 82, of Madison, Indiana passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born Saturday, October 20, 1928 in Madison, Indiana the daughter of Karl F.and Maude (Driggs) Batschelet. Mrs. Murphy retired from the Social Security office as a clerk and also had worked for the Jefferson Proving Ground. She was a member of the North United Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her kids and grandkids, sewing, her church and visiting Goodwill and yardsales. Survivors include her two sons: Roger Dale Murphy and his companion, Linda Johnson, Madison, IN and Daniel Murphy and his companion, Sandy Forsting, Carrollton, KY; one sister: Carolyn Buchanan and her husband, Morris, Lexington, KY; three grandsons: Brent Miller, Madison, Sean Patrick Murphy, Madison, and Troy Allen Murphy, New Albany; a sister-in-law, Sarah Catherine Murphy Smith and her husband, Alford, Madison; a nephew, Rodney Johnson, Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Murphy, Jr. whom she married on Sunday, November 15, 1953 in Madison, Indiana; Daughter - Melissa Hackney on May 1, 2007; two sisters, Betsy Graham and Clara Belle Batschelet. The Reverend Matthew Stultz will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with burial to follow at the Springdale Cemetery.
