Life story Mrs. Malvria Mae Estes, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Hanover Health and Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Clark County, Kentucky, the daughter of Clifton and Lillian Ketchum Griggs. Mrs. Estes lived in Clark County until the early 1970's when she and her husband moved to Louisville. They lived there until 1985 when they moved to Madison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison, spending 51 years doing preaching work for her church. Mrs. Estes spent three and one-half years in the nursing home. During that time, her husband missed only three days of visiting her and feeding her twice a day. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Estes, Sr., to whom she was married on January 15, 1949 in Clark County, Kentucky; two daughters and sons-in-law: Donna and Eddie Gilvin of Milton, Kentucky, and Sybil and Tim Cloud of Hanover; one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest, Jr. and Lee Ann Estes of Winchester, Kentucky; two sisters: her twin, Marie Estes of Mount Sterling, Kentucky and Jeanette Wills of Winchester, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Estes be made to the Worldwide Preaching Work of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
