Life story Mrs. Margaret Marie Kidd Koontz, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her home in Madison. She was born on December 11, 1929 in Madison, the daughter of John and Cora Buchanan Kidd. She was raised by Sam and Anna Taylor. Mrs. Koontz attended Saint Michaels Catholic School and graduated from Madison High School. She was retired from Grote Manufacturing Company, but prior to that, she owned and operated the snack bar in the former Pages and Danner's Department Stores in the 1970's. She also worked at one time at Kawneer Manufacturing Company in Carrollton. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Going to Bingo with her sisters was a favorite pastime, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren, and sharing food with friends and family. Survivors include four sons: James Douglas Koontz and his wife, Carolyn of Hanover, Donald E. Koontz and his wife, Janet of Commisky, Duane D. Koontz and his friend, Debbie Cloyd of Commiskey, and Michael D. Koontz and his friend, Debbe Staker of Lexington, Indiana; four daughters: Deborah L. Jacobson and her husband, Robert of Brooksburg, Donna M. Lytle and her husband, Markt of Madison, Yvonne C. Manning of Milton, Kentucky, and Marta D. Tingle and her husband, Darren of Madison; four sisters: Juanita Jumps of Madison, Dorothy Wells of Lexington, Indiana, Wilma Stewart of Madison, and Mary Helen Wilhoite of Hanover; two brothers: Clyde Kidd and John Kidd, both of Madison; nineteen grandchildren: Mark, Cathy, Donnie, Jr. Kristen, Neil, Jeremy, and Ryan Koontz, Linda King, Jennifer Leach, Erin Allen, Stephanie McGlothlin, Janelle and Bryce Manning, Lakyn Tingle, and Trevor, Tracie, Tatum, and Taryn Lytle and Tabitha Brown; and twenty great grandchildren: Jaydon, Kara, Katlyn, Daton, James, Stephanie, Angel, Alexie, Taylor, Anna, Shyann, Christopher, Olivia, Ethan, James, Jackson, Nathon, Lennon, Ivy and Roman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Koontz; one son, Danny Koontz; two sisters: Ruth Smith and Anna Smith; one brother, George Allen Kidd; and one great grandchildren, Daniel Andrew. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 Am Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Bayless Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday, January 8, 2010 and from 9 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
