Life story Mrs. Margaret M. Staicer, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born on May 17, 1917 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Raymond and Anna Varmecky Pastorek. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison, and a former member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Elmont, New York. Mrs. Staicer enjoyed baking, reading and Crocheting. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John and Maureen Staicer of Madison; three daughters: Monica Sollars and her husband, Joel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Judy Staicer and her husband, Anthony Phelps of Medford, Massachusetts, and Mary Ann Staicer of Farmingdale, New York; and three grandchildren: Emma and Adair Staicer of Madison, and Shannon Hill and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Hill of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John I. Staicer in April, 1993, and to whom she was married on June 30, 1942 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania; two brothers, John Pastorek and Andrew Pastorek; and two sisters: Mary Kunz and Dorothy Pampanella. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend John Meyer at 5:30 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the Mass, beginning at 4:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, New York.
