Life story Mrs. Marie C. "Sue" Burchfield, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. Born October 3, 1947 in Madison, she was the daughter of Raymond and Viola Goins Ashby. Mrs. Burchfield retired in 1985 after working for McDonald's Restaurant, as a crossing guard for Madison Consolidated Schools, and as a janitor at the Ohio Theatre, all in Madison. She attended the Salvation Army, and enjoyed playing Bingo, electronic games, reading and going to Belterra. Survivors include three sons: Dallas Burchfield and his wife, Cindy of Madison, Gregory Burchfield and his fianc, LeDonna Sherbon, Mark Burchfield and his wife, Terri; one daughter, Wanda Arvin and her husband, Jack; five half-sisters: America Woodfill, Bonnie Newman, and Betty Walters, all of Madison, Virginia Vincent of North Vernon, and SylviaTurntine of Saint Louis, Missouri; four brothers: Ben Ashby of Hanover, Richard Ashby and James Ashby, both of Madison, and Larry Ashby of Muncie, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas Burchfield on March 12, 1989, and to whom she was married on October 23, 1965 in Madison; one sister, Joyce Ashby; one brother, Donald Ashby; two half-sisters: Anna Belle Gaylord and Jessie Lee; one half-brother, Raymond Ashby; and one grandson, Terry Burchfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
