Life story Mrs. Martha J. Miller, age 85, North Vernon, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Jennings County Health Care Center in North Vernon. Born October 11, 1925 in Madison, she was the daughter of Frank, Sr. and Sally Pearl (Arnold) Dunn. Mrs. Miller had been a lifelong resident of Madison until recently when she moved to North Vernon to be closer to her son. She was a 1943 graduate of Madison High School, and retired in 1981 after many years of service as a secretary in the Social Services Department at Mascatatuck State Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison, a formerly a Deaconess and member of the Evangelism Committee of the church. She enjoyed shopping and being with her family. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Mary Miller of North Vernon; two grandsons: J. Marc Miller and his wife, Casey of North Vernon, and Joshua L. Miller and his wife, Lauren of Leitchfield, Kentucky; four granddaughters: Christina Summers and her husband, Kevin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Patricia J. "P.J." Trader and her husband, Grant of Scottsburg, Indiana, Nichole Herr and Samantha Herr, both of North Vernon; and eleven great grandchildren. The Reverend Dr. Randy James and Reverend Jon Carlstrom will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Organ Restoration Fund.
