Martha Esther Wright, age 87, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle (Gray) Sutter, was born on September 26, 1937, in Madison. She was united in marriage to Boyd Dean Wright, Sr. and they enjoyed 67 wonderful years together. She spent her career as a side-stitcher at the Madison Joyce Shoe Factory, and also spent many years selling Avon. She was in The President's Club and won many awards. Martha was the president of Tops for 30 years and was chosen the Indiana Queen by them. She enjoyed reading, country music, yard sales, auctions and cooking. Her family enjoyed many meal times as she was an excellent cook. For many years, she would regularly meet her friends for breakfast at McDonald's. Mrs. Wright passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at her residence in Madison. Her life will be cherished by her children: Lynette Wright and her companion, Mike Gosman of Madison, Fredonna Kempf and her husband, Don of St. Joseph, Michigan, Boyd Dean Wright, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Elgin, South Carolina, and Kim Wright of Madison; her grandchildren: Jarrod Kempf (Kim), Jeremy Kempf (Bethany), Tanner Youngblood, Matthew Wright (Angela), Bobby Snyder (Danielle), Crystal Snyder, and Steven Snyder (Lindsay); 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Dean Wright, Sr. who passed away on March 30, 2012; her brothers: Virgil Vincent Sutter and Nolan Leon Sutter; and her sisters: Freda May Alford, Ruby Lee Bickers, Marcella Ruth Ashby, Violet Jane Kelly, and Nola Jean Wright. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2025 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Friends and family may gather at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
