Life story Mary America Ashby Woodfill, age 84, of Madison, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 06, 2015 at Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana. She was born Monday, March 30, 1931 in Jefferson County, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond O. and Silvia Marie Goins Ashby. She was a homemaker She liked sewing, knitting, beadwork, crocheting, embroidery, crewell embroidery and tatting. She received her most enjoyment from piecing and quilting quilts by hand and loving her family of three girls and three boys and a grandson they raised as their own. She was a member of the Salvation Army and the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughters: Judy E. Bellamy, Deputy, IN and Cindy L. Cole, Madison, IN; her sons: Michael Woodfill, Madison, IN, Carl D. Woodfill, Hanover, IN, and Dennis K. Woodfill, Madison, IN; sister: Virginia Vincent; brothers: Benjamin, Richard, J.D. Ashby; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and stepsisters: Betty Walters and Bonnie McClure. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl M. Woodfill, whom she married Saturday, March 1, 1947 in Madison, Indiana, and who died December 16, 2007; daughter, Mary Margaret Dean; a great-grandson; sisters: Sylvia Priviess, Annabelle Gaylord, Joyce Ashby and Noticka Marie Ashby; brothers: Leafa Larry, Donald, Clarence, Raymond, Junior, Samual and Nofay Ashby; and a step-sister, Jessie. The Reverend Richard Jankosky will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with burial to follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 09, 2015 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday, August 10, 2015.
