Obituary

Life story Mrs. Mary Antoinette Hadley, age 77, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born October 31, 1931 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond and Thelma Nana Rumer. Mrs. Hadley graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Vincennes, and married the love of her life, Harold, on March 31, 1951. She deeply loved her family, was a huge Elvis Presley fan, and enjoyed spending a few dollars at Belterra whenever she got the chance. She dedicated her life to her family, shared in the work at Chapman Printing, the family business, and the many woodworking projects that her husband was involved with. She enjoyed the boats of the Madison Regatta, working as a movie extra in "A Girl Named Sooner" and "Madison," and would never turn down a good game of cards or Yatzee. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. While we miss her deeply, it is wonderful to know that she is at peace, walking with God, and experiencing more joy, in her new life, than she could have ever imagined possible. Survivors include her husband, Harold; their son, Kenneth G. Hadley, his wife, Rita, and their three children, Alyssa Anne, Kristiana Olivia, and Hannah Nirel of Fairfax, Virginia; and one brother, Raymond Rumer and his wife, Donna of Vincennes. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Samuel Rumer. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by The Reverend John Meyer at 2:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2009 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2009 and from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Monday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. The Rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Madison Riverfront, Inc. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mary A. Hadley, please visit our floral store.
