Life story Mary Alberta (Chandler) Hancock, of Dupont, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born on March 28, 1925 in Owenton, Kentucky, the daughter of Walker and Lena Hutton Chandler. Mrs. Hancock moved to Madison in 1959 and took a position as an attendant at the Madison State Hospital. She remained there until her retirement in 1988. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She helped to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters: Mary Susan Andres and her husband, Larry, of Dupont, and Patricia Jane Eden of Dupont; one son, Joseph Hancock and his wife, Toni, of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren: John, Gregory and Brad Hancock, Paul J. Andres, Sara, Kristy and Jason Eden, and Beebe Brooks; and seven great-grandchildren: Amber, John, Jr. Alex, Preston, Walker, Kaleb and the seventh expected in January, 2007. Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Beebe Joseph Hancock, who passed away on April 27, 1990, and to whom she was married on December 26, 1941; and one brother, Ernest Walker Chandler. The Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Dupont Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Chapel from 10 AM until time of services on Friday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Dupont Cemetery Association.
