Obituary

Life story Mary "Faye" King, age 97, of Madison, Indiana died Friday, June 3, 2016 at The Waters of Covington, Indiana. Born June 24, 1918 in Jefferson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Maggie (Gill) Smith. Mrs. King worked for many years at the Shoe Factory in Madison and for seventeen years she was the cook for the Lamda Chi Alpha House at Hanover College. Faye was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, Homemaker's Club, volunteer for RSVP for several years, and a Red Cross volunteer for many years. She enjoyed quilting, painting barn quilts, and gardening, especially at the Heritage Apartments where she lived for the last 23 years. She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Holly Blye (Hooker) Frazier of Veedersburg, Indiana and Clara M. (Sever) Kidwell and her companion, Joe Di Palo of Veedersburg; her sister, Indiana Cook of Veedersburg; her grandchildren: Mike Frazier and his companion, Jamee Coon of Waveland, Indiana, Kirk Frazier of Lafayette, Indiana, Kim Lytle of Madison, and Eddie Kidwell and his wife, Kristen of New Albany, Indiana; her great grandchildren: Ivy Clair and Markt Roman Lytle and Wyatt Christopher and Hollis Edwin Kidwell; and her dear friend, Frances Ritchie. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Claude H. Hooker, second husband, Paul E. Sever, third husband, Howard H. King; her brothers and sisters: Harry Smith, John William Smith, Pearl Parker, Dora Newman, Blanche Shelton, Cecil Varble, Martha Lichlytler, Casey Smith and her twin, Mae Austin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday June 7, 2016 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street in downtown Madison with burial to follow at the New Prospect Cemetery near Saluda, Indiana. Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM Tuesday June 7, 2016 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel in downtown Madison.
