Obituary

Life story Mrs. Mary Louise Taflinger, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the King's Daughters' Hospital. She was born on August 14, 1917 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Albert J. and Mae Egloff Herrmann. Mrs. Taflinger was a former secretary for Shawe Memorial High School, Madison, and had worked for the Madison Water Department. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Bank for many years, a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash, and active in the local Democrat Party and Democrat Women's Club. She was a BETA Associate of Tri-Kappa, and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Saint Patrick's Alter Society. Survivors include two brothers: Albert J. Herrmann, Jr. and John Herrmann, both of Cheektowago, New York, and all of her special nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, Warren Allen Taflinger on April 9, 1983, and one daughter, Patricia Ann Taflinger, preceded her in death. The Reverend Darvin Winters will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2004 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Chapel, with interment to follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 24 from 4 to 8 P.M. and from 9 to 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 25. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 Sunday evening at Lytle Funeral Chapel. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Friends of Shawe and Pope John Schools.
