Obituary

Life story Mary Helen Carver, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1948 in Madison, the daughter of Sherley and Vinia Hawkins Welch. Mrs. Carver was a graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and IVY Tech State College with a degree in human services. She had worked in the dietary department of the King's Daughters' Hospital for almost fifteen years until she became disabled, and then worked as a caregiver. She was a past board member of Ohio Valley Opportunities (OVO), and enjoyed reading, cooking, yard sales, flower gardening, and finding homes for stray animals. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly Teresa and Tim Bradford of Madison; two sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Carmen Estes and Jason and Amber Young, all of Madison; one sister-in-law, Linda Hutchason of Hanover, Indiana, who also helped care for her; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherley Welch and Vinia Hawkins Beach; one brother, Charles Welch Hutchason; one sister, Katherine Jackson; and one half-brother, Myrle Welch. Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery, Milton, Kentucky. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
