Life story Melissa Dea Jones, 48, of Madison, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. She was born Thursday, March 29, 1962 in Madison, Indiana the daughter of Joseph Cardwell and Anna May (Thevenow). Melissa was a 1980 graduate of Madison High School. She was a homemaker and a full time mom for much of her life. She formerly worked at Shooters as a cook and was self-employed as a painter, roofer and contractor. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also was a former contestant in the Miss Madison Regatta Pageant. Survivors include five sons: Derek Jones and his wife, Katy of Hanover, Blake Jones of Madison, Jarid Jones and his companion, Danielle of Madison, Adam Jones of Madison, and Fieldon Jones of Hanover; a companion, John Konkle of Madison; a brother, Paul Cardwell of Madison; her step-father, Douglas Talarsky and his wife, Jeannie of Kent; grandchildren: Jacob Jones, Khloe Jones, and Shawn Rush; three aunts: Mary Carver, Betty Todd, and Rebecca O'Banion. She also will be missed by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna May (Thevenow) Talarsky, her grandmother, Thelma Gray Tomlinson; and a cousin, Heather O'Banion. The Reverend Robert Scott will conduct funeral services at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 01, 2010 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with private burial for the family at the Springdale Cemetery.
