Obituary

Life story Michael Hay Seebauer, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1952 in Madison, the son of Kenneth Lanier and Edna (Law) Hay. Mr. Seebauer graduated from Portage High School in Portage, Indiana, and returned to the Jefferson-Switzerland County area after high school. He was a welder and pipefitter, but mostly was a farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, serving formerly as the song leader, and a former member of the Brooksburg Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the guitar, banjo and drums. Survivors include his wife, the former Lucinda Bridgewater, to whom he was married in July 1977 in Madison by the late Reverend Bo Walters; two daughters: Katchina Zavaleta of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Naomi Sublett and her husband, Shaun, of Madison; two sons: Joseph Mann of Scottsburg, Indiana and Elisha Seebauer and his wife, Darla Robbins of Brooksburg; his mother, Edna D. Murphy of Madison; three sisters: Becky Thomas and her husband Jim of Lohman, Missouri, Joyce Nedoff and her husband, Jim of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Janet Wagner and her husband, Tim of Rochester, Indiana; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1953, one brother, Richard Wayne Seebauer in 1999, and his step father, Walter Kenneth Seebauer. Reverend Gaines Gentry and Reverend Andrew Hoskins will conduct memorial services at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 3583 North Greenbriar Road, Madison. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Macedonia Baptist Church.
