Nathaniel Douglas "Bubby" Ritchie, age 24, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of Brandon Buerke and Chasity Ritchie-Johnson, was born on October 24, 2000, in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Madison Consolidated High School and loved to play video games, especially Dragon Ball Z, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his brother, Wyatt and his best friend, Jared. Bubby was always larger than life, making jokes, talking to everyone about anything and everything, and wanting others around him to be happy. He was very smart, loved by everyone who knew him, and was always the one who brought the family together. Nathaniel passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his residence in Madison. His life will be cherished by his mother, Chasity Ritchie-Johnson and her husband, Steven of Madison; his brother: Wyatt Buerke and his girlfriend, Layla Vonch of Madison; his sister: Heather Bennett and her husband, Dylan of Madison; his grandmother: Mary Ritchie of Madison; his father: Brandon Buerke of Madison; those who were like a brother to him: Jared Beach of Bedford, Kentucky, and Sebastian Campbell and Taran Campbell, both of Panama City, Florida; his nieces and nephews: Jameson, Emery, and Rylan Bennett, and Paisley Mae; his grandfather, Ronald Shelton of Dupont, Indiana; his uncle: Chris Logsdon of Indiana; his aunt: Shantell Ritchie of Madison; his cousins: Bianca, Trishell, Malachi, Zeke, Benjamin, Teleah, and Lebanon; his great aunts: Regina Powell and Anna Douglas; and his great uncle: Frankie Logsdon. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marjorie Logsdon; his uncle, Dorrell "Eddie" Ritchie; his aunt: Tabatha Buerke; and his great uncle, James "Moe" Logsdon. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2025 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 4:00 PM until the time of the service on Monday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Nathaniel Ritchie Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
