Life story Mrs. Nellie K. Brooks, age 90, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood. Born January 8, 1923 in Madison, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Amanda M. (Warren) Schuck. Mrs. Brooks retired form Grote Industries in 1989 and moved to the Indianapolis area following her retirement. Survivors include one daughter, Janice Skirvin of Greenwood; four grandchildren: David W. Skirvin and his wife, Joyce, Darrell W. Skirvin and his wife, Dawn, Cathy L. Howard, and her husband, Randy, and Deanna L. Gault, and her husband, Mike; nine great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Jared, Courtney, Payton, Corey, Katie, Logan and Brendon; one nephew, Mike Jones and his wife, Jeanne of Madison; one great-niece, Emily Jones of Madison; one great-nephew, Adam Jones and his wife, Rachel, of Madison; and one great-great niece and nephew, Riley and Noah. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Louise Jones and Rosamae Imel; four brothers: Ben, Bob, Jim and Jake Schuck; her son-in-law, Kenneth Skirvin; and one nephew, Roy Jones. The Reverend Brian Teater will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 22 and from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
