Life story Mrs. Norma Mae Weber, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on March 31, 1928 in Madison, the daughter of Fred, Sr. and Carlie Mae Stoner Davis. Mrs. Weber was a cook, having worked in several downtown Madison restaurants, including Bennett's Grocery and the Poultry House. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Madison, and attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hanover. She enjoyed cooking, Bingo, flower gardening, singing and music of all varieties, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. Survivors include two sons: Richard Moppin and his wife, Wanda of Madison, and James Moppin of Madison; three daughters: Ruth Ann Payne of North Vernon, Indiana, Virginia McAlister and her husband, Danny of Madison, and Carley Jean Short and her husband, Steve of Madison; two brothers: Ronald Davis of Petersburg, Indiana, and Rueben Davis of Madison; two sisters: Alma Hedgepeth of Madison and Alice Lewellyn of Carrollton, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George T. Moppin; her second husband, George Weber; two brothers: John W. Davis and Fred Davis, Jr.; three sisters: Carolyn Sentell, Ellen Stephens and Anna Perry; and three grandsons: Chico T. Payne, Joseph Q. Payne and Thomas G. Payne. The Reverend Mike Johnson will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Friday, May 23 and from 9 to 11 AM Saturday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Weber. Contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
