Life story Mrs. Ora J. Kroger, age 77, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Seymour Crossing in Seymour, Indiana. Born June 21, 1936 in Trimble County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Thomas and Bertha Hackney McDole. Mrs. Kroger graduated high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She returned to Madison in 1984, moved to Colorado in 1986, returned to Madison in 1989 and moved to North Vernon in 1997. While in Fort Lauderdale, she owned and operated a Mobile Service Station retiring in 1982. She also worked as a medical assistant in Florida. She was formerly a member of North Madison Baptist Church. Currently her membership is in a Baptist church in Florida. She was a member the Madison Moose Lodge and AARP. Survivors include two grandchildren: Tracy Youngblood and Marcus Culver, both of Madison and who cared for her; three great grandchildren: Jorrica and Zayrin Youngblood and Erin Culver; one son-in-law, Bill Eldridge of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters: Connie Lynn Ginther Liggett and Terry Eldridge; three brothers: Raymond McDole, Kenny McDole and Harrold McDole; and three sisters: Elizabeth Kelly, Virginia McDole and Lola Mahoney. Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Chapel from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
