Life story Mrs. Patricia J. Combs, age 72, of Hanover, formerly of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on January 24, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Enoch and Hazel (McIntire) Caudill. Mrs. Combs moved to Lexington, Indiana in 1969 and later to Madison. She was a homemaker, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1969, and enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to Country, Gospel and Blue Grass music. Survivors include two daughters: Hazel Reece of Madison and Amy Combs of North Vernon, Indiana; one son, Adrian F. Combs of Madison; one sister, Geraldine Brashears of Hazard; one brother, Ossie Caudill of London, Kentucky; her longtime companion, James Brightwell of Carrollton, Kentucky; and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Combs, to whom she was married on August 30, 1962 in Virginia, and who died on July 19, 1992; one son, Marvin Combs; one sister, Ida Brashears; and two brothers: Couley Caudill and an infant brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery.
