Life story Mrs. Deloris Patricia "Pat" Lunsford, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born July 12, 1934 in Switzerland County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Louie C. and Dorothy R. (Supplee) McDarment. Mrs. Lunsford was licensed as a beautician in 1966 and owned and operated a beauty shop for twelve years before becoming a psychiatric attendant for eight years at the Madison State Hospital. She was a member of the hairdressers association and the North Madison Christian Church. Survivors include one brother, Louie C. "Buck" McDarment, Jr. and his wife, Sonja, of Madison; one step-son, Robert Oder of Indianapolis; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Higgins in 1964; three sons: James Louis Higgins, Michael Allen Higgins, and Mark Steven Higgins; and three sisters: infant Darlene McDarment in 1949, Janet Rowlinson in 1990 and Mary Sue Callis in 2010. The Reverend Dr. Paul Brewster will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Brooksburg Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Friday, January 11 and from 10 to 11 AM Saturday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
