Obituary

Life story Philip L. Pearson, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born on October 5, 1943 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Harold Ivan and Norma Annabelle Randall Pearson. Mr. Pearson moved to Madison in 1982 and owned and operated the Contact Dental Laboratory until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madison. He had a deep and abiding love for family, God and country, having served in the United States Navy from November 30, 1960 to December 6, 1962. Survivors include his wife, the former Laura Catherine Tompkins, to whom he was married on January 22, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois; four daughters: Tammy Tyler of Madison, Lori Lambright of Rexburg, Idaho, Alfia Griffin of Martinsville, Indiana and Favor Clapp of Greendale, Indiana; four sons: Ian Pearson of LaGrange, Kentucky, Erik Pearson of Haley, Idaho, Shad Pearson of Clarksville, Indiana and Grant Pearson of Martinsville, Indiana; two brothers: Tom Minter of Boise, Idaho, and Danny Minter of Nebraska; twenty-six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Janess Sue Pearson in 1992; one son, Kent Pearson; one brother, Jack Pearson; and one sister, Joyce Ann Pearson. Bishop Jeff Kinman will conduct funeral services at 12:30 PM Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. The Honor Guard from Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct graveside services. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
