Life story Mr. Randy Gayle, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1951 in Madison, the son of Warren M., Sr. and Shirley V. (Sauer) Gayle. Mr. Gayle was a 1969 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and a member of the North United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed contractor in the construction industry, having retired in 2007. Previously, he worked for the former Finnegan's Grocery in Hanover until its closing in 1989. He volunteered on the crew of the Miss Madison hydroplane crew, and was an avid sports fan, particularly following Indiana University basketball, the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Reds. Survivors include his wife, the former Marty Wheeler, to whom he was married in May 1980 in Hanover; one daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Kyle Riley of Switzerland County, Indiana; one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Lindsay Gayle of Indianapolis; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and A.W. Jackson of Madison; one brother and sister-in-law, Warren, Jr. and Judy Gayle; and one granddaughter, Kallie Riley. He was preceded in death by his father in 1963; his mother, Shirley V. Grey on March 12, 2014; and his step-father, Joseph L. Grey on April 27, 2003. Private family services will be held. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the King's Daughters' Hospice and Home Health.
