Life story Richard T. "Buck" Shipley, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1940 in Madison, the son of Richard B. and Mary Louise (Hoagland) Shipley. Survivors include his wife, the former Judith McCarty, to whom he was married on June 16, 1958 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison; two daughters and sons-in-law: Karen (Shipley) and Kevin Brown of Bloomington, Illinois, and Linda (Shipley) and Patrick Manning of Madison; one son, Mark Shipley of Madison; one sister, Marjorie Toomey of Madison; two brothers: Charles "Butch" Shipley and his wife, Joyce of Louisville, Kentucky and Bill Greenan of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Sarah Brown Neal and her husband Tyler, Anne Brown, Andrea Manning Andrew and her husband Cody and Michael Manning and his wife Danielle; and five great grandchildren: Avery Andrew, Cole Andrew, Brant Andrew, Braden Neal and Hallie Neal. He was preceded in death by his father in August 1973; his mother in June 2007; one sister, Martha E. Royce in July 2014; and one brother, James M. Shipley in 1942. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Madison. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the King's Daughters' Hospital Hospice or the Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
