Life story Richard U. "Dick" Zehe, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Frank and Lizette (Kraemer) Zehe. Mr. Zehe was a graduate of Cleveland High School and attended seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. He had lived all over the world during his lifetime, including Madison: once from 1990 to 2003 and then from 2012 until his death. He served in military intelligence in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired international marketing consultant who traveled extensively in the Americas, Europe and the Far East establishing business relationships between companies as well as conducting marketing seminars and sales training. He was published in a number of poetry anthologies, and actively participated in poetry readings throughout the Midwest. Mr. Zehe was an ordained deacon in the Catholic Church, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Ruby Handy, to whom he was married on December 21, 1983 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada; three sons: Jeff Zehe of Chicago, Illinois, Matt Zehe and his wife, Julie of Fort Collins, Colado, and Rick Himes and his wife, Sarah of Indianapolis, Indiana; three daughters: Jackie Zehe of Rising Sun, Indiana, Barbara Blaine and her husband, Brent of Kettering, Ohio, and Linda Burch and her husband, Lloyd of Carmel, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Joanne Zehe and one sister, Jerri Warner. The Reverend Evelyn Wheeler will conduct memorial services at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Christ Episcopal Church. The family requests memorial contributions be made the Christ Episcopal Church. Contribution envelopes are available at the church and Lytle Funeral Chapel.
