Life story Mr. Richard H. "Dick" Lunsford, age 77, of Madison, formerly of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Hickory Creek of Madison. He was born May 27, 1936 in Jennings County, Indiana, the son of Carl and Rachel (Trapp) Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford retired in 1988 after twenty-one years of service as a machine operator for the Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in North Vernon, and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Survivors include his wife, the former Kathryn Grider, whom he married in North Vernon in October, 1997; two sons: Richard A. Lunsford, and Robert Lunsford and his wife, Pam of Brookville, Maryland; two daughters: Chris Gaebes of Jennings County, Indiana, and Shelly Miles and her husband, Rick of Lexington, Indiana; four step-daughters: Connee Sauley and her husband, Kevin of Madison, Kayleen Ross and her husband, Sam of Commiskey, Indiana, Geneva Ridener of Kentucky, and Diana Smith and her husband, Ethan of Grammer, Indiana; one step-son, Curtis Ridener of North Vernon; one sister, Isabelle Barnes of Madison; and eighteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Naomi Patterson, and one brother, Carl Lunsford. Memorial services will be conducted at 5 PM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison. Friends and family may call from 4 to 5 PM Saturday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
