Rita Faye Wise, age 67, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Marcus and Effie Margaret (Burton) McCarty, was born on March 17, 1956, in Salyersville, Kentucky. On December 3, 2001, she was united in marriage to Marvin G. Wise, Sr.. For over thirty years, she worked at the U.S. Shoe Factory in Madison and Vevay, until it closed. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her dog, Doodle. Mrs. Wise passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.

Her life will be cherished by her son: Howard Jason Romans, of Madison; her step-children: Carrie Ray, of Greensburg, Indiana, Connie Wise, of Hanover, Indiana, Michelle Newby, of Bedford, Kentucky, and Marvin Wise, Jr. of Columbus, Indiana; her siblings: Athalene Stewart of Madison, Loretha Baker of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Verna Walters of Elkton, Maryland, Luke McCarty of Milton, Kentucky, and Jerry McCarty of Madison; eighteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin G. Wise, Sr. who passed away on March 7, 2017; her son: Jermey Romans who passed away on June 5, 2023; and her siblings: Rollan McCarty, Delmar McCarty, Kenneth McCarty, Abner McCarty, Glen McCarty, Junior McCarty, Thurman McCarty, Mozella McCarty, and Wanda Banks.

Pastor Scott Kollmann will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Macedonia Cemetery near Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
