Life story Mr. Robert V. "Bob" Carlo, age 79, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Carlo moved to Madison twenty-eight years ago, and was the owner and operator of B.C. Jewelry and Repair on East Main Street until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of S.A.S.S. (Single-Action Shooting Society) of Pleasant, Indiana, where he was known as "Whitehawk." He also enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his wife, the former Pamela "Marie" Secrest of Madison; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Darla Carlo of East Gull Lake, Minnesota; two step-daughters and sons-in-law: Denise and Mark Hatcher of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Tracey and Chris Pierson of Stoneville, North Carolina; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Nancy and Alfred Gauldin of Martinsville, Virginia; ten grandchildren: Ben, Jason, Amy, and Shanna, Jade, Joshua, and Gabriel Hatcher, and Nathanael, Autumn and Gavin Pierson; one niece, Amy Parton of Madison; and one nephew, Daryl Parton of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife, Carolyn S. Carlo on February 26, 2009. A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 7 PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Church, 209 East Main Street, Madison. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Robert V. Carlo memorial fund, in care of the funeral home.
