Obituary

Life story Mr. Robert K. Eversole, age 60, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at his residence. Born June 28, 1950 in Bedford, Indiana, he was the son of John W. and Lorena McPherson Eversole. Mr. Eversole was raised in Mitchell, Indiana and a 1968 graduate of Mitchell High School. He played basketball, football, and achieved recogmition in his favorite sport, pole vaulting, breaking the school record his senior year. He was a 1973 graduate of Northwood Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was a senior claims adjuster for the Cincinnati Insurance Company. He moved to Hanover in 1975 and then to downtown Madison in March of 1979. His memberships included Trinity United Methodist Church, the Paoli, Indiana, Lodge of F & AM #119, the Mitchell American Legion and the Madison Elks Lodge # 524. Mr. Eversole was a skilled racquetball player, enjoyed a good game of backgammon, and frequently entertained family and friends on the patio of the carriage house. Survivors include his wife, the former Brenda L. Weeks, to whom he was married on November 28, 1970 at the Syria Christian Church in Paoli, Indiana; one daughter, Sarah B. Andrews of Columbus, Indiana; one granddaughter, Ava Maxine Andrews of Columbus, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James W. Eversole. As a gift to the living, Bob bequeathed his body to the Indiana University School of Medicine. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. A gathering for family and friends will follow the celebration at the Livery Stable on Broadway Street in Madison. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the King's Daughters' Hospital Foundation to be used for Prostate Health Awareness, or to the Bob and Brenda Eversole Endowment at the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County to benefit children of the community.
